Ms. Shaw has devoted her career to the advocacy of good design. She is a design marketing consultant and co-founder of Accent on Design and The International Contemporary Furniture Fair. As a product designer of home furnishings, she recognized the need for effective new marketing venues and conceived a variety of events that continue to provide enormous opportunities for designers, manufacturers, and retailers. She has served on the Boards of DIFFA (the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS) and was Executive Director for the Worldesign Foundation, a not-for-profit promoting design thinking and teaching for grades K-12. Currently, she oversees Shaw & Co! Productions, a marketing firm with a diverse international clientele that includes Credit Suisse, Biogen Idec, Material ConneXion, George Little Management, Relais & Chateaux, Baldinger Lighting, The Artful Home and the United Nations Environmental Programme.

Ms. Thiel is owner of Thiel Design, an architecture and interior design firm based in New York City and the Hudson Valley. Her firm focuses on hospitality, product and residential design. Prior to starting her own firm, she worked for Rockwell Group, Robert A.M. Stern Architects, Selldorf Architects and Michael Graves Architects. She has worked on a wide range of project types including hotels and restaurants, high end retail and theaters, condominiums and shopping centers, as well as residential projects and product design. Included among her clients are Bryant Park Corporation, Wildlife Conservation Society, Disney, ING, Cirque du Soleil, The Related Companies, Movado, Bentley Prince Street, Gotham Bar and Grill, B.R. Mr. Maloney is the Co-Founder at Maloney & Fox (M&F), a renowned public relations and marketing communications agency. The firm has spent the last few years promoting design in New York City, including I Saloni Worldwide at the Piers featuring Gaetano Pesce; design-related events in NYC sponsored by Peroni, and work with David Rockwell and The Rockwell Group. Ms. Frattini Magnusson is founder and principal of EFM Design, an international award-winning multidisciplinary practice that spans architecture, interiors, product design, brand development, and graphics. Notable projects include the Aqua townhouse development in Miami, retail concepts for Russell Athletic, offices and showrooms for Knoll International, various art galleries and studios, a Times Square hotel and restaurant, a feasibility study to expand The Wolfsonian Museum in Miami, and a variety of residential projects in the United States and Europe, including the renovation of a Frank Lloyd Wright House. In addition, she is founder and principal designer of Articolo, a collection of high-quality European-produced furniture, of Manù, an online high end leather good retail company, and creative director of Spinneybeck Leather. Her Propeller Collection of tables for Knoll has been a bestseller since its introduction in 1994 and has won numerous awards, including the IDEA Award in Business Week and her collection of accessories is licensed exclusively to the Museum of Modern Art. She has served as a visiting faculty member at Parsons School of Design and Yale University School of Architecture. She has been a regular contributor to several Italian magazines, including Domus, Casa Vogue, and Abitare. Mr. Ventura founded creative agency Sub Rosa (formerly Seed) in 2005, focusing the firm’s efforts on creating innovative and interactive advertising. Sub Rosa’s clients include: Yves Saint Laurent Beauté, L’Oreal, Mountain Dew, Pepsi Cola, Sony Music, Diesel Fragrances, Axe (Unilever), MSN, Vespa, Estée Lauder, and others.
Before founding his own companies, Michael was the Creative Producer for HNW, a high-net-worth media agency, developing advertising and collateral campaigns for clients such as Citigroup, Merrill Lynch and Fidelity Investments. In addition, Michael has served as a media consultant for companies like New York University, Danilo Black, BMG, Ziff-Davis and American Media.
Michael sits on the advisory boards for several organizations and businesses including Behance, Mark Ecko’s Sweat Equity Enterprises, the United Nation’s-based New York AIDS Film Festival, and the international cause-related youth advocacy organization FYI: Film Your Issue. He has also spoken on several panels and conferences regarding the role of creative design in advertising and the media. In addition, he serves as a judge for the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Emmy Awards and several advertising and design awards.

Ms. Pawar is currently a Consultant at Moroso working on special projects including a traveling “Pop Up” show in collaboration with The Rockwellgroup and Fashion’s Night Out with Diesel highlighting the furniture collaboration with Moroso called Successful Living.
Before joining Moroso, she worked at Herman Miller for 6 ½ years. She was the Program Marketing Manager, a corporate position where she was responsible for creating and maintaining strategic planning initiatives for the Architecture + Design program. Prior to the Program Manager position she was an A + D Representative responsible for supporting architecture and design (A+D) firms in the New York area and representing them by understanding and translating their conceptual and tangible design solutions into Herman Miller environments. This provided the Herman Miller team with detailed information gathered from working with the A+D firm that guided the execution of a solution that met the expectations of design, function, and cost of that project. The position was a bridge for research, design, presentation, and specification for the client.
Ms. Pawar holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Hunter College, New York, NY and an MA in Museum Professions from Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ. She is an active member in ASID, AIA Interior Design Committee, and two IIDA Sustainability Committees and has attended Interior Design/Space Planning courses at Parsons School of Design in New York City.

Beth Swanström is the owner of Galerie Swanström in New York City and the creator, producer, director of ArtScout MEDIA. As a gallerist she has received accolades in Architectural Digest, Art New England, The Boston Globe, Boston Magazine, The Harvard Crimson Review, and others. As a filmmaker she produces videos to promote design education in public schools, as well as illustrating the art and design world through inspired, informative and creative short documentaries. She is a member of New York Women in Film & Television, and an advocate and avid fundraiser for Stoked Mentoring. Beth is a graduate of Endicott College and Boston University’s School of Social Work and holds a Certificate in Television and Broadcast Production from New York University.
Gar Yan Yeung is twenty years old and is currently studying architecture at the City College of New York.
She attended the Urban Assembly School of Design and Construction, where she studied introductory design and had the opportunity to be a summer intern at Skidmore Owings and Merrill. During her senior year in high school she served as a long-term intern at Thornton Tomasetti, working with the Yankee Stadium team. While at UASDC she also worked on design challenge projects with a series of architects and firms, including Thread Collective and Bruce Fowle. Upon graduation she was recipient of the first scholarship ever presented by the Tornton Thomasetti Foundation.
For the past three years Gar Yan has worked as a teacher in summer architecture camps for youngsters, including Archikids and the Transfiguration summer program. She looks forward to opening her own firm soon!
